#USCFW12: Sponsor Fashion Show

You may or may not have read the city girl’s post about the Symposium with Hunter Bell of Hunter Dixon from last week. You also may or may not know that the city girl was asked to cover some of the events happening as part of USC Fashion Board’s Fashion Week 2012. She was humbled and excited all at the same time.

Regardless, here is another post dedicated to USC Fashion Board‘s Fashion Week Sponsor Show. The city girl attended the Sponsor Fashion Show the night after the Symposium at the Columbia Museum of Art. The show took place at 701 Whaley – where a number of most fabulous events have recently taken place in her famously hot home.

She arrived a bit late she must admit. She was tied up in a business meeting. She knows, it doesn’t sound like fun, but it wasn’t so bad … the company (and the cold beverages were quite nice). Anyhow, she was escorted to her front-row seat upon her arrival. Quelle surprise! She had a great view of the runway and the audience. See for yourself.

From her view, you can see she wasn’t the only one running a little behind that evening. Nonetheless, the show went on and withing minutes more seats were full. She’s not sure you can quite tell from the view above, but USC Fashion Board was clever to maximize the space for the runway. The models, ladies and gentlemen, traveled up one row and down the other entering and exiting from the same door. How clever. The city girl was particularly impressed with this layout. Why? Well, for many reasons. It’s smart for the audience and the models. It works insanely well in the large space. And it’s financially savvy because you can sell twice as many tickets. Boom!

Now back to the fashion. Alert: more clever coming your way. The sponsor show was organized alphabetically. The city girl is a big fan of abc order. It’s fair, well, the fairest you can be. Anyhow, the sponsor show included fashions from Bohemian, Brittons, Just the Thing, LaRoque, M Boutique, Petal, and Van Jean. In that order. She won’t share the photos galore that she took, but she will share one from each of the shops. See for yourself.

Bohemian

She must admit that her favorite garment from Bohemian can’t be seen well in this photo, so here’s another one. See for yourself.

And her most favorite thing from Van Jean…the shimmery pants. The city girl does not frown upon anonymous gifts. Just send her a message and she will send you the bill. Kidding, kidding. Ok, but really, if you want to take her on a shopping spree, send her a message. Anyhow, see for yourself.

And that’s it folks! The show was lovely. The city girl was verah impressed. She could tell that USC Fashion Board put quite a bit of effort into this production and the whole week. It shows in the details – like having really cool beverages – hand-crafted Shirley Temples, a favorite of the city girl and treats for guests to enjoy after the show.

And for anyone reading from Fashion Board, please know that she is happy to cover next year’s events, too. Until the next adventure.
